Welcome to Wightman United Methodist Church!
I am glad you have found our web page and hope that it will be a useful tool for learning about the people and happenings of our church.
Wightman UMC is a growing, thriving, active church full of friendly people desiring to grow in relationship with Jesus Christ, but don’t take my word for it. If you haven’t visited with us already, that is the best way to experience our church. We look forward to meeting you and hope that you will find Wightman to be an ideal place for you and your family to worship, to study and to serve as we all seek to grow in grace and faith together.
Grace and peace,
Michael A. Turner, Pastor
On Sunday, June 7th, we celebrated what God has been doing in our congregation in a variety of ways. The highlight of the service was the opportunity for many in our church family to share the word of their testimony. We did this by “cardboard testimonies.” It was moving to see those testimonies and ponder how God has been working in the lives of brothers and sisters at Wightman UMC. It took courage to share in that way. In fact, it always takes guts to share your testimony. It’s a fearful thing, but it is also powerful.Have you considered what your cardboard testimony would be? How has God been working in your life? What transformation have you experienced? How can you share this with others?
For those who didn’t have the opportunity to see this first hand, click on the video below.
This video is of the team of 22 people who went to Biloxi, MS the week of May 4th to work at a Habitat for Humanity facility on the gulf coast. The team worked on two houses that were in their second week of construction. Work done was nailing the siding to the house, building of porches, installation of trusses, wrapping the houses, and installation of roofing sheeting.

The Cloud Land Vocal Band will perform at Wightman on Sunday, July 19. They will sing from 9:10 to 9:30a.m., so come early if you would like to hear them. They will also sing during the worship service. The Cloud Land Vocal Band has been singing Southern Gospel Music for over 12 years. The group consists of Michelle Keklak, Ken Skinner, James Baston and Clyde Ward. Murph Ward is their sound technician. They have recorded three albums which will be on sale in the narthex after the service.
