Traditional Music Ministry

Ministry leader: Eddie Rivers Adult Chancel Choir:  Do you enjoy sing- ing? Did you know that singing lifts your spirit and makes you feel good? Many people love to sing, but they feel they aren’t good enough to sing in a choir. Note: It doesn’t take a fully-trained voice to sing in a choir. It only takes a voice dedicated to giving praise to a great God. You don’t have to read music in order to sing ei- ther! The choir…

Contemporary Music Ministry

Ministry Leader: Matt Donovan Wightman’s Praise Band practices each Wednesday night and provides music for the 11:15 a.m. Contemporary Worship Service held in the Christian Life Center. If you have musical talents including playing instruments and providing vocals, you can choose to have the opportunity to try out to be a part of this group. In addition, a youth band practices each Sunday and provides music for youth programs and special events.

Handbell Choir

This is a group of musicians with varying degrees of music reading abilities.  From non- music reader to the advanced music reader, we welcome and encourage anyone interested in learning the art of bell ringing to become a part of this choir.  The only prerequisite is a desire to serve the Lord through music.  The handbell choir routinely provides music for Sunday morning worship services.

RIOT Team

The R.I.O.T. team (Righteous Invasion of Teens) centers around a choreographed liturgical interpretation of contemporary Christian music.  The routine includes simple dance steps, dowel rods, and sign language.  The group meets most Sundays at 3:00 p.m. with the UMYF meeting at 5:00 p.m.  They participate frequently in worship services at Wightman, community events, and at other local churches.

United Methodist Men

The United Methodist Men meet monthly for supper September through May on the third Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall for a meal and program. The food is always delicious and the programs are relevant and interesting. The UMM engages in various mission projects. Every man in the church is invited to be a part of this growing group.

United Methodist Woman

The United Methodist Women is an organized group of women dedicated to mission work, both in the local church and beyond, in the community, the nation, and the world. Technically, any woman who is a member of the United Methodist Church is a member of UMW. On the first Tuesday of February, May, August and November, a meeting of the circles is held at 7:00 p.m. at the church.
