We get them in the mail all the time. Sometimes it is a reminder to “Save the date,” other times it is a formal invitation to a wedding or a graduation. These invitations are usually to events that are “life-changing.” A couple coming together or a graduation marking the end of one phase of life and the movement to another. Invitations are a signal that something so important is about to happen that you won’t want to miss it.
This Christmas at Wightman we have printed invitations for you to invite your friends to come and join us on Christmas Eve. This year we will once again have two services, one at 4:00 p.m. and one at 6:00 p.m. But this year we are adding something special to Christmas Eve called “Family Traditions.” We realize that Christmas Eve is a time when families spend time together so we will be opening up a special experience 30 minutes prior to each service. Come and join our church family in listening to carols, sipping hot chocolate and decorating Christmas cookies. It is a great time to connect with your friends at Wightman and invite those who may not have a church to join us in the celebration.
And don’t forget to pick up a few invitations at church to hand out to your friends. You wouldn’t want them to miss out on Jesus’ birthday, a truly life-changing experience.
