On June 3-6, the South Carolina Annual Conference met in Greenville. Pastor Brian attended with our delegates, Kirk Atwood and Leonard May. The Conference approved the budget for the next year, commissioned or ordained, including Gryff Carosiello who served at Wightman as an intern. There were also six different ministry projects that took place including beds for the homeless and packaging health kits for disaster response.
While the Conference contained a lot of reports and resolutions to discuss, the theme of the Conference was “In Mission from Anywhere to Everywhere.” Bishop Jonathan Holston reminded us in his sermon, “It doesn’t matter what part of South Carolina you are from, whether you are from Wallace or Buckhead, when we allow God’s Holy Spirit to find its way into our lives, what a time, what a time, what a time! All we are is messengers, errand-runners of Jesus. And it started when God said, ‘Light up the darkness.’”
